Are you on a team that is designing a new assisted living facility? If so, you were probably stunned at every single detail that needed to be included in the design plan. Are you at the stage where you are selecting the wall treatment for the new facility? From arranging for commercial painting to selecting artwork for the walls, here are some ideas that might help you.

Commercial Painting

Once the walls of the assisted living facility are painted, the building is probably pretty close to completion, isn't it? With that in mind, you are more than likely anxious to get the job done.

Think of colors that would add pizzaz to the facility. For example, do you want one single color of paint, or do you want one basic one and then accent colors? Consider selecting off-white and then adding a couple of bold stripes in bright colors of paint. For example, an off-white background with a yellow stripe and an orange stripe would give a sunshiny look to the walls. Or, choose colors from nature and add stenciling. For example, a light turquoise for the paint color would be beautiful. Stenciling in dark brown would complement the turquoise paint color.

Another idea is to have the walls faux painted. For example, a talented painter could make the walls look like a sky with billowing clouds. Or, for a very elegant feeling, a painter could make the painted walls look like Italian marble.

The Art Work

Are you also the person responsible for selecting artwork for the walls of the assisted living facility? If so, you have some fun ahead of you. Focus on establishing a cheerful mood in the selection of artwork. For example, posters of beaches and fields of flowers would be very appropriate choices. Another idea is to select animal prints. Animals with their babies would be an especially fun option.

Will residents be moving from another assisted living facility? If so, consider asking the director of activities to have a session where the residents get to create whatever they want to with watercolors. Collect the artwork and have it matted and framed in heavy gold frames. You will probably be astonished at how professional and beautiful the art will look on the walls. And, won't the residents have fun seeing that their own paintings are being featured in the new assisted living facility?

About Me
Update Your Home Affordably With Paint and Wallpaper

Hello, my name is Donna King, and I want to welcome you to my blog that's all about painting and hanging wallpaper. After my husband and I purchased our home we wanted to do some updating inside the house, but we didn't have a lot of money to spend. Since neither one of us had ever done this kind of work before, we researched the tasks before starting the project. We bought new paint for the walls, and we put up wallpaper in the kitchen. My husband's cousin is a painter and wallpaper hanger by trade, and he told us many helpful tips and tricks. We really enjoyed updating our home, and I'm writing this blog to give other homeowners helpful information about painting and wallpapering their homes.
